Health and Well Being Day - 27th November 2020
On Thursday 26th November we held a Health and Well-being day for the children of Over Hall Community School. Six activities were arranged for the children. These included a festive themed run around the school playground, a bike and scooter area, a circuit of different activity challenges, cheerleading, Tai Chi and Mindfulness and a workshop from Active Cheshire about the importance of physical activity and the benefits on physical and mental health.
All the children participated and there were smiling, happy faces throughout the day. Many of them ran for longer and further than they had before and felt a real sense of achievement.
The children all gave positive feedback about how much they had enjoyed the day.
'I didn't think I'd be able to keep running but I did.'
'I now know I need to be active for 60 minutes each day'
At the end of the school day as I was on duty in the playground the whole atmosphere was a positive one, parents and children conversing about the day and a real sense of happiness. I was so proud of all the children today, it is so important that they look after their physical and mental health and they can all share this message with their families.
Feedback from parents has also been received, sharing how much their children had enjoyed the day.
We would like to celebrate the hard work of our children and promote the importance of health and well-being.
