PE is on a Tuesday and Wednesday - please remember to send your child in wearing their PE kit. A polite reminder, that as part of the school policy earrings must be removed or covered with plasters.
I've attached a copy of the knowledge organiser - this document will let you know what the children will be learning in class this half term. It will also give you some helpful pieces of information to support your home learning/home work.
Your child has already had their reading homework explained to them and it will be coming home this week. Weekly spelling and table practice remains unchanged, details will be posted here and class dojo weekly.

Homework will be sent out on Fridays and we will have our spelling test on Wednesdays. Please post images on class dojo of finished work.

Below is a copy of the letter, sent out at the beginning of summer, it has lots of information about the rules and routines for coming back to school. Please take a moment to read through it, so that you are fully prepared for our new school year.
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are carefully making plans for a safe return of all pupils in September that are listed below. Please take a little time to read through the arrangements and keep this in a safe place. There have been a significant amount of necessary changes over the course of the last few months as a result of our actions to ensure the reduction of risk to all within our community. The following arrangements are the expected changes for a September start (subject to updated guidance).

All pupils will return on Wednesday 2nd September – our new Reception class have some further time alterations as part of transition arrangements – these have been communicated in recent communications and can be found on our school website – Reception – New starters
ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL · One parent/carer only to drop off using the one way system · Pupils will use their dedicated entrances and exits – these will be communicated prior to opening and signs will be displayed on the doors · As a result of a swift drop off, there will be no opportunity to pass on verbal messages at the door - please use Class Dojo to message your child’s class teacher /teaching assistant or alternatively call the school office and don’t be offended when a member of staff reminds you to do this! ·
Pupils and families must queue 2m apart outside the school gates · Years 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 enter the main yard gate from 8.45am - 9.00am · Ensure children stay with you when waiting · Please be patient in the early stages as everyone becomes used to the system · Gates will be closed promptly at 9am to allow staff to start all lessons and interventions · Late arrivals to call the school office via phone and wait at the playground gate ·
Staff will be available to support children at the start of the day · Children will sanitise their hands upon arrival · Children will be expected to arrive wearing clothes clean on that day · Please leave the school grounds and surrounding area promptly and respect social distancing at all times · Coats will be hung in the designated cloak room areas · Book bags only can be accepted in school – alternatively a plastic wallet for books and home learning can be used
o No rucks sacks / pencil cases / personal equipment due to restricted space and hazards that they may cause in storage ·
Children should arrive equipped with their own water bottle and where appropriate packed lunch

SNACK AND LUNCH ·
Pre ordered and paid for snack will be available for your child – these need to be ordered and paid for in advance to avoid daily contact with money · Alternatively you can provide your child with a snack, please send one in from home (no nuts, crisps or chocolate bars). · Your child will need a water bottle each day this can be either a reusable or disposable one – they will be given opportunities to refill over the course of the day · Packed lunches should be in a named, disposable bag or a lunch box that can be thoroughly cleaned each day. · Free School Meal and Universal Meals are still available for eligible children – initially we will be operating a restricted menu and build up routines over a short space of time · School dinners will be available to all children ordered in advance.
Reading books will be sent home as normal. · Children do not require any pencils or pens to be sent in from home as they will all be provided · Book bags or reading plastic wallets can be used that can be easily stored in your child’s tray · Avoid sending your child with large bags · Masks are optional for both children and staff – this may change with guidance
Full school uniform is expected upon return – clean that day · Sensible school shoes (ideally Velcro fastening) that have suitable grip and comfortable to wear for the day · PE kit is to be worn on the days they have PE. PE is on TUESDAY and THURSDAY.
o Clean plain white / school t shirt and jogging bottoms. We are aiming to do PE outside whenever possible.
o Trainers or pumps that your child can tie up independently – ideally velcro
o No PE bags are necessary
If your child needs prescribed medication we will require parental consent via email to the office. Contact school in advance of the start date to request the paperwork which can be emailed directly to you or made available for you to pick up. We will only be able to administer the medication upon receiving this completed information. Please provide the medication in the original box that has the child’s name and date of birth printed at the pharmacy.
If your child is unwell, please keep them at home and seek a test if they are showing COVID 19 symptoms. Children will need to remain at home until they are well. · If your child has COVID 19 symptoms, they must be tested and remain at home. If the result is negative, they can return to school when they are feeling better and symptom-free. · If a child requires regular paracetamol, they must remain at home. · If your child becomes unwell in school, we will contact you straight away and ask you to collect your child within the hour. · Children with COVID 19 symptoms will be isolated in our medical room.

If a child chooses not to follow the expectation of being safe, e.g. hygiene routines, it may be necessary to speak to parents.
PICK UP ·
One parent/carer only to collect ·
3.00pm: children with no siblings - collected from the playground – please wait 2m apart - teachers will spot you on entry to the playground and will endeavour to have your child ready to go. ·
3.15 All children with siblings collected from to playground – please respect social distancing. ·
Sadly, children cannot use the climbing equipment at the start or end of the day. Please leave the school grounds and surrounding area as soon as you have collected your child and maintain social distancing as you leave.
Parents/carers will not be able to access the school building. If you need to get in touch, please ring or email the school office. Ensure your child is equipped with all that is needed for the school day. If there is a forgotten item e.g. lunchbox, water bottle it will have to remain at home. We are trying to reduce footfall as much as physically possible and this includes staff outside of bubbles. Please do not be offended if you arrive at school later with said items – we suggest you phone first to see if there is the need or for alternative arrangements to be made.
ALLSORTS - BREAKFAST AND AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
We will send out a further communication about before and after school provision. · Breakfast club drop off will be at the hall door further on from the main school entrance. · Staff will be on site and available for Breakfast club from 8am – places must be booked in advance · There is some availability of childcare from 7:30 but this needs to be agreed at least 48hours in advance · After School Club will run with some availability for a later pick up – arranged in advance · Charges will apply – please message Mrs Barlow for further information and look out for messages from her on Class Dojo · Strict health and safety measures are in places as per the normal school day
